Stand United to end poverty through Leadership Giving
Leadership Giving is one of the most impactful ways you can help ensure friends and neighbours across the GTA have access to programs and services, in times of stability and in crisis.
By making a donation of $1,200 or more to United Way Greater Toronto, Leadership Donors are a driving force, working to meet basic, urgent needs – like food, housing and mental health supports – and tackle long-term systemic change to create stronger, more resilient neighbourhoods.
The Impact of Leadership Giving
Your Leadership support of United Way funds essential programs and services through a network of 300 agencies across the GTA, helping 2 million people each year.
- $1,200 can provide counselling to a woman who has survived domestic abuse and her children for the length of their stay at a shelter.
- $2,000 can provide 25 people with two sessions of one-on-one career exploration support, which includes individual assessment of skills, career counselling and navigation support.
- $5,000 can provide 50 seniors with culturally appropriate hot meals once a week for 12 weeks.
The Benefits of Leadership Giving
As a Leadership donor, you will have a dedicated United Way staff partner to assist you, receive special updates and opportunities to learn more about the impact of your support, and will be included in our annual online Leadership Honour Roll.
Double your impact
Thanks to the Canso Leadership Team Challenge Grant*, your gift can have even more impact!
All new Leadership gifts of $1,200+ this year will be matched. If you donated $1,200 or more last year, then any increase to your gift to United Way this year will be matched dollar for dollar. That means you’ll have an even bigger impact on our community and help even more individuals and families across the GTA build a better life.
* Canso Leadership Team Challenge Grant only applies to gifts of $1,200 to $9,999 to United Way Greater Toronto; not to gifts designated to other registered charities. The Gift will match up to $1 million in total donations. Gifts must be received by December 31, 2023.

Looking back, the issues that United Way champions were issues that impacted me, including supports for newcomers and youth empowerment. At our core, we all want to matter—to look back and know that we made a difference.
