Bruce McCuaig is an experienced leader in delivering large-scale infrastructure projects and public-facing services to diverse customers in intense media and political environments, where he pursues an agenda requiring alignment and collaboration among multiple stakeholders.
Bruce retired from AECOM as Senior Vice President in 2025. He was responsible for leading the Canadian transportation business line, providing engineering and consulting services to public and private clients.
Bruce spent his early career at the Ontario Ministry of Municipal Affairs, working in community planning, housing development, executive administration, and long-term structure planning for the Greater Toronto Area. He has held a variety of roles in planning, policy, and service delivery at the Ontario Ministry of Transportation, culminating as Deputy Minister between 2008 and 2010. From 2010 to 2017, Bruce was the President and CEO at Metrolinx, the regional transportation authority in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton area.
In 2017, Bruce served as an Executive Advisor with the Privy Council Office of the Government of Canada, advising on the set up and launch of the Canada Infrastructure Bank, and where he developed and implemented a program of outreach to municipalities.
In addition to his United Way involvement, Bruce has served on several professional and community boards, including the Providence Healthcare Foundation as Vice Chair of the Campaign Committee. He also is the Strategic Lead for the infrastructure practice at Phelps, a leading Canadian executive recruitment firm and a program director and an instructor at Osgoode Hall in the Master of Law program specializing in energy and infrastructure.
Bruce graduated from Toronto Metropolitan University with a Bachelor of Applied Arts degree in Urban and Regional Planning and from Queen’s University with a Master of Public Administration.

With a record of over 20 years of community service in Canada and abroad, Len Carby is driven to serve his community by bringing practical and innovative social leadership. He understands the challenges and opportunities facing the Region of Peel, and desires to position the growing region to confront them by offering new ideas to make his community a caring, inclusive and welcoming place, where residents feel safe to live, work and raise their families.
Len is member of the Anti-Racism Advisory Committee at the Peel Regional Police and a member of the We Rise Together Steering Committee with the Peel District School Board. He has volunteered with United Way of Peel Region, Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario–Black Leadership Health Summit, Jamaica Consul General Citizenship Committee, Cuso International and was a founding board member of the Federation of Black Canadians. Len was a candidate for Peel Regional Council in the 2010 Municipal election.
Len is currently a Senior Financial Consultant at IG Wealth Management. Previously, he held positions as a Financial Planner at RBC Royal Bank, Financial Advisor at Versatile Financial Group and managed an Associate General Agency with PPI Solutions. Prior to this, Len worked in Information Technology.
Len holds a Fellow at the Life Management Institute (FLMI), a Personal Financial Planner (PFP) accreditation from the Canadian Securities Institute, a BBA from the University of Technology in Jamaica, and an MBA from the Australian Institute of Business.
Len lives and works in Peel Region. Len was the Chair of our Black Community Advisory Council from 2012-2018 and continues to be an active member.

Christine (Chris) Morris has recently retired as of January 2026 after a successful career at Toronto Dominion (TD) Bank.
Christine was the Senior Executive Vice President, Transformation, Enablement and Customer Experience at the Toronto Dominion (TD) Bank. She was a member of TD’s Senior Executive Team and oversees global transformation programs, enterprise data and analytics and artificial intelligence, North American customer operations, marketing, digital strategy, payments and innovation, enterprise change and operational excellence.
Over more than three decades at TD, Chris has held positions of increasing responsibility across many different areas of the Bank. In March 2020, she was appointed Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Canadian Personal Banking and was responsible for strategy, customer acquisition, operations, delivery, data and analytics, and governance. Prior to that, Chris led the Canadian Real Estate Secured Lending business and was promoted to Executive Vice President of Lending Solutions, Canadian Personal Banking in 2019. Chris served as Chief Financial Officer, Canadian Banking and Wealth from 2016-2017 after leading a variety of teams within Risk Management, Operations, Business Banking and Finance.
Chris is an active supporter of TD’s diversity and inclusion initiatives and serves as the Chair of the Bank’s Women in Leadership Committee. She is also the Chair of the Board of Directors for Toronto Finance International and previously served on the Equifax Advisory Committee.
Chris holds a Bachelor of Arts and Economics from the University of Western Ontario and completed the RMA/Wharton Risk Management Program. She resides in Toronto with her husband, and they have two adult children.

Julia Moynihan is Managing Director, Business Development & Connectivity at CIBC Global Asset Management. She is focused on building bridges between CIBC Global Asset Management, our external partners, and teams from across the whole of CIBC to promote cross-regional and cross-border synergies and sales.
Julia has more than 29 years of experience at CIBC. She was previously Managing Director and Head of Money Market in CIBC’s Global Markets division, responsible for all trading activities across Government, Corporate and Securitized Money Market products. Here at CIBC, she was recognized for her contribution and commitment to gender diversity with the Women in Capital Market’s Champion of Change Award in 2017.
Julia received her Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from McGill University. She is a CFA charter holder and a member of the CFA Society of Toronto.

Ted Aivalis has been a dedicated advocate for workers’ rights since joining CUPE Local 416 in 2012. His commitment to the union and its members is evident through his progressive involvement and leadership roles.
Ted began his union journey by serving as the Health and Safety Representative for his unit, ensuring a safe and healthy work environment for all members. Elected as Chief Steward, Ted represented members in grievance procedures and disciplinary matters, advocating for fair treatment and justice.
Ted was elected Vice President in 2018 and again in 2021, where he played a pivotal role in strategic planning, bargaining, and strengthening the union’s presence both within the city and across the province. Ted has successfully defended the local in hundreds of arbitrations concerning unjust discipline and policies, demonstrating his expertise and dedication to protecting members’ rights. He has served on multiple bargaining committees, contributing to the negotiation of various collective agreements that benefit members.
Ted works collaboratively with all unions and levels of government to advance the interests of members and the local, fostering solidarity and unity in the labor movement.
Beyond his official roles, Ted co-hosts the “Left Looking In” podcast, engaging in discussions on municipal budgets, labor rights, and environmental sustainability. Through his work, Ted continues to champion the values of solidarity, equity, and public service.

Andria Babbington

Andria Babbington is the President of the Toronto & York Regional Labour Council representing over 220,000 union members in Canada’s largest urban centre. An immigrant to Canada in her youth, Andria joined the labour movement when she began working in the hotel sector in downtown Toronto, where she became chief steward in her hotel at the age of 19, one of the youngest in her union’s history. Working as a union organizer for many years, Andria played a pivotal role in campaigns like 2006’s Hotel Workers Rising, which raised the living standard across North America for thousands of hospitality workers.
Andria has been on the executive board at the Labour Council since 2004 and served as Vice President for eight years prior to being elected President. The first woman of colour to sit as President, Andria is committed to fighting for a just economic recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond; equality and justice for all workers; growing the labour movement by increasing union density; and fighting for climate justice to ensure a future for our children.

Larry Frost is from the Serpent River First Nation Reserve in Ontario. He is Ojibway and has been a member of the Aboriginal community in Toronto since 1967.
Larry was the Executive Director of the Native Canadian Centre of Toronto for 17th years and is now retired. He also serviced as a Director and President on many boards. He was the Chair on the 2015 Pan Am Games for the Aboriginal Leadership Partnership and was the FIFA 2026 indigenous advisory chair.
Larry has been in the Leadership role for 26 years and is an independent businessman since 1992. Larry is currently servicing the Indigenous Community of Toronto as a knowledge Keeper and is the CEO and President of Elder Eagle Inc.

Scott Gamble is currently Executive Vice President, Retail Sales at Scotiabank. Scott is responsible for driving the client-focused strategy of the Canadian Retail Channels, including Branch, Virtual, and Global Client Experience Centres.
Scott joined Scotiabank in 2016 with global responsibility for Fraud, Collections and Crisis Management. In 2021, Scott was named Regional Senior Vice President, Toronto Region, and, in 2023, became Senior Vice President, Retail Performance.
Prior to joining Scotiabank, Scott held progressively senior roles at TD Bank across Commercial Banking, Product Leadership, Fraud, and Operations.

Lisa is an accomplished public sector professional with a 33-year career leading numerous human services and policy initiatives.
For 24 years, Lisa has served in various roles at York Region, including the Regional Clerk’s office, the Office of the Chairman and CEO, and as Director of the Strategies and Partnerships Branch in the Community and Health Services department. As Director, she managed community investment allocations, strategic social policy, research, analysis, and strategic communications. She spearheaded the Region’s newcomer and seniors strategies and the Inclusion Charter, which earned international recognition from the United Nations Institute for Training and Research. In 2019, she became the General Manager of Paramedic and Seniors Services, overseeing paramedic operations and two long-term care homes. In 2024, she was appointed Commissioner of Community Health Services and President of Housing York Inc., where she oversees social services, public health, housing, emergency housing, and paramedic and seniors services.
Lisa has also held various positions in the provincial government, including roles at the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing, the Ministry of Community and Social Services, Cabinet Office providing support to the Premier’s Office, and Management Board.
Lisa holds a B.A. in Public Policy and Administration and an M.A. in Political Science.

Mariam brings an understanding of community through her United Way experience in Peel and Toronto over the past 10 years.
Mariam specializes in designing and leading enterprise transformation to build and scale new competitive capabilities. She is currently the Global Leader for Data Strategy & Governance at Deloitte, responsible for leading the data agenda to enable an AI-driven future.
She is currently the Co-Chair of the DiverseCity Fellows Network, following the completion of the city building leadership program at CivicAction. She is actively engaged in the Peel District School Board as the Vice Chair of a School Council to create community programs for youth and families.
Mariam holds an Honours in Bachelors of Administration and an MBA from the Ivey School of Business at Western University. She received an Emerging Leader Award from the Ivey Alumni association for her community engagement within the GTA. She also received an Ontario Community Service Award in 2021.

Pamela Huff is one of Canada’s leading corporate restructuring professionals and is a Retired Partner, continuing as Senior Counsel, at Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP. Pam has extensive expertise as a strategic business leader, advising major corporations and their key stakeholders in complex transactions. She has worked in numerous industries, domestic and cross border, including commercial real estate, transportation, manufacturing, energy, hospitality and retail among others. She has held several executive leadership roles within Blakes for over a decade, including Blakes’ Executive Committee and National Practice Leader of the firm’s Restructuring and Insolvency group. Pam is experienced in all areas of the corporate restructuring practice, including both the litigation and commercial aspects. She has appeared at all levels of court across the country, including the Supreme Court of Canada.
Pam served as a Director, Chair of the Policy Reform Committee and first woman President of the Insolvency Institute of Canada. She was inducted as a Fellow of the IIC in 2023.

John also advises high-net-worth individuals on tax and estate planning matters, including family trust settlements and post-mortem tax planning.
John received his Law designation from McGill University and his Accounting and Business/Management Degree from Laurentian University. He is MIG donor and on UWGT’s Campaign Cabinet. He was a former Board member at Centraide Montreal and was highly engaged in their real estate strategy.

Prior to joining TD, Michelle was an Audit Partner at KPMG LLP where she focused on the Investment Fund and Consumer Product industries.
A long-time champion of TD’s diversity and inclusion initiatives, in 2025, Michelle was appointed Chair of TD’s Inclusion and Diversity Leadership Council, providing strategic direction and driving impactful change to how inclusion comes to life across the organization. She has also served as co-chair of TD’s Employee Giving Campaign supporting the critical work of charitable organizations serving communities across Canada.

Ram Selvarajah is an Ontario-based public servant and labour leader with more than 25 years of experience in the Ontario Public Service. He currently serves as a Senior Systems Analyst with the Ministry of Public and Business Service Delivery and Procurement and is President of the Peel Regional Labour Council. He also serves on the OPTrust Board of Trustees and has demonstrated longstanding leadership in labour relations, human rights, and equity. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from York University and the ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors.

Joseph Silva

Joseph Silva is an experienced public servant and policy and finance leader. He has worked at the federal, provincial and municipal levels, and is currently the City Treasurer at the City of Markham. He previously worked at the Regional Municipality of York, as Director of Strategies and Partnerships in the Region’s Community & Health Services Department responsible for strategic social policy and community development, and previously as Director and Deputy Treasurer in the Finance Department overseeing the delivery and transformation of a number of financial and business services. He held progressive positions in the Ontario Public Service, at the Ministry of Energy and at the Ministry of Infrastructure, and started his public service career as an economist at Finance Canada working on agriculture policy.
A Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) and Certified Internal Auditor, Joseph holds a Master’s degree in economics from McMaster University and a Master’s in public administration from the School of Policy Studies at Queen’s University. He completed his undergraduate studies at York University, where he is currently an adjunct faculty member at the School of Public Policy & Administration.
Joseph is proud and appreciative of his long and strong affiliation with United Way, including as a student intern at a United Way-funded agency, as a workplace campaign coordinator, as Co-Chair of United Way Greater Toronto’s (UWGT) GenNext Cabinet, and, currently, a Board member and a member of UWGT’s Finance, Audit and Risk Committee. He also volunteers with CPA Ontario as a mentor and with the Institute of Public Administration of Canada, currently as Past Chair of the Board of Directors for Toronto Region after serving as Chair for a number of years.
In May 2025, the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, the Honourable Edith Dumont, awarded Joseph the King Charles III Coronation Medal.

Unity Health delivers the full spectrum of care offered across Ontario’s health system— from primary care, seniors care, rehabilitation, and acute services to specialized regional programs and long-term care— and is a globally recognized, university-affiliated teaching and research institution. It is a learning destination of choice for health professionals, known for its leadership in integrated, compassionate, high quality, and collaborative care.
Prior to joining Unity Health Toronto in 2025, Altaf was President and CEO of Mackenzie Health for more than 14 years. Under his leadership, Mackenzie Health received Accreditation with Exemplary Standing consecutively in 2013, 2017 and 2022 – the highest rating a Canadian healthcare provider can achieve – and numerous awards for its commitment to safety and quality patient care, as well as approval to build the organization’s second hospital – Cortellucci Vaughan Hospital which opened in early 2021. Before joining Mackenzie Health, Altaf held the position of Senior Vice President and Chief Operations Officer at Mount Sinai Hospital, and previous to that he was Site Executive – Brampton Civic Hospital and Vice President, Patient Services at the William Osler Health Centre.
Altaf was presented with the Canadian College of Health Service Executives Canada’s Outstanding Young Health Executive of the Year Award in 2007 for his demonstrated leadership in improving the effectiveness and sustainability of the country’s health system. He has a diverse educational background with undergraduate degrees in Economics, Geography and Business Administration, as well as a Master’s in Health Administration. Altaf is adjunct faculty at the Institute of Health Policy, Management and Evaluation (IHPME), Dalla Lana School of Public Health, University of Toronto, and a surveyor with Accreditation Canada. Altaf serves as a member of several Boards of Governors including: GS1 Canada, Mohawk Medbuy Corporation, and The United Way of Greater Toronto. Altaf is the past Chair of the Ontario Hospital Association.

Dr. Vanita Varma is a strategist with 20+ years of executive leadership experience in the non-profit sector in GTA. As a systems-thinker and collaborator, her areas of expertise include strategic visioning and planning, Board governance, community engagement, DE&I, and change management. Most recently, she was the Director of the Centre for Innovation in Health and Wellness at Humber Polytechnic.
Vanita holds Ph.D. from the University of Toronto, specializing in leadership and policy with collaborative specialization in workplace learning and social change. Her current Board leadership roles include Board Chair of Crossroads International and Board of Directors at Alzheimer Society of Canada (ASC). Her past Board Governance roles include Board Chair & Board of Directors at William Osler Health System and Board of Directors at Sheridan College. Her community leadership roles include member of EDI & Community Advisory Council at TMU School of Medicine, and a Mentor with Massey College, and OISE at University of Toronto.

Susan Witteveen

Susan Witteveen is an accomplished executive within the financial industry across North America, having spent over 20 years in a variety of leadership roles.
Currently, she is the Senior Vice President and Head of Treasury & Payment Solutions at BMO Commercial Bank. In this role, Susan leads a team of banking professionals providing clients with innovative, global transactional banking solutions, resulting in more efficient, effective and safer financial operations.
As a lifelong advocate of career mentorship and building a strong culture, Susan also carries the role of executive sponsor of the BMO Commercial Bank Talent Operating Committee, which is dedicated to developing an industry-leading, purpose-driven culture for the Bank’s multi-generational workforce.
Susan’s experience extends into the community where she actively volunteers, supporting a number of non-profit organizations and initiatives, particularly those focused on youth mental health and the well-being of children.
Susan holds an MBA from Ivey Business School, Western University and is a Chartered Professional Accountant. She is married with three children, a golden doodle and resides in Toronto.
