Why give monthly? 

Monthly giving provides an easy, convenient and cost-effective way to help support the work of United Way year-round. You are in control! At any time, you can increase, decrease, pause or stop your donations, all at your convenience. 


How does PAD (Pre-Authorized Debit) work? 

You (the Payer) make arrangements for PAD (also known as Direct Debit) payments from your bank account with the biller (United Way Greater Toronto). This agreement can be made through a digital form through our website, or over the telephone. In order to set up or change your PAD payment, we will require the following information: bank transit (branch) number, institution number and account number. The agreement specifies the amount, timing, frequency or event that will result in a PAD, as well as the account from which the funds are to be withdrawn.

How long is my monthly commitment for? 

There is no automatic end date to a monthly gift. 


How to cancel: 

If at any time debits do not comply with this agreement, you have recourse rights by contacting United Way Greater Toronto at 1-888-550-2279 or by contacting your financial institution. For monthly donations, direct debits are processed on the first of each month; credit card payments are processed upon receipt and monthly thereafter.

How can we make changes to our monthly donation? 

We understand circumstances change, especially during this unprecedented time. We have options available if you need to make changes to your monthly support. When will I receive my tax receipt: 

We comply with Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) recommendations to issue tax receipts by February 28 of the calendar year that follows the year of the donation. There is no minimum donation amount required for a tax receipt. This allows individual taxpayers to claim their donations on their annual income tax returns.   


What methods of payment do you accept? 

American Express, VISA, VISA Debit, MasterCard, MasterCard Debit, or Direct Debit (PAD).
