Thank you for standing United with our community

Over the past year, in a time of immense challenges, we were able to take real, sustainable and significant steps to support, and provide opportunities, for our friends and neighbours across Peel, Toronto and York Region. Here are some of the highlights of what your generosity made possible.

United, we:

Worked towards making housing accessible
We partnered with the City of Toronto and University Health Network through The Social Medicine Initiative, creating 51 new units of supportive housing in Toronto’s Parkdale neighbourhood, advancing a new model for housing that deeply integrates housing with health and other supports.

Supported refugees
In addition to the 28 dedicated agencies and programs supporting newcomers we fund, your support allowed us to fund a special project with COSTI to assist with the settlement of Ukrainian refugees, helping to find safe accommodation and offer culturally appropriate services.

Increased our commitment to Indigenous, Black and equity deserving communities
We prioritized strengthening organizations led by, for and about Indigenous, Black and equity-deserving communities through $26 million in community program grants.

Helped people connect to food
We supported 23 programs that are creating healthy food systems so everyone has access to affordable, nutritious, culturally appropriate food.

Advocated for an inclusive GTA
We partnered with Ontario for All—an alliance of non-profit community organizations— to facilitate policy roundtable discussions around decent jobs, income security, housing and more, resulting in an “Agenda for Change”, highlighting achievable actions the provincial government could take to address urgent needs.

Here are some of the highlights of what your generosity made possible:

All of this—and more—we have been able to accomplish because you chose to stand for, and with community, united.

Thank you
