Introducing our new program stream funding

We recently announced program funding partnerships with 143 agencies providing 242 programs targeting populations with greatest pressing emerging needs – 29 of these agencies and 46 of these programs are receiving United Way funding for the first-time. All programs are designed to support people who are in or at risk of falling into poverty, specifically addressing the following service areas:

  • Early learning and parenting
  • Enrichment and skill-building programs for middle years
  • Youth development
  • Homelessness and homelessness prevention
  • Employment and financial security
  • Counselling and mental health for individuals and families
  • Programs to support people to live independently
  • Community building and connections – engagement and community service navigation
  • Programs to address domestic violence
  • Social and systems change – community development, collaboration on issues and research and public policy initiatives
